Cultural enjoyment in a unique atmosphere!
As early as 1925, music, theatre and dance delighted audiences in the courtyard of Albrechtsburg Castle. To mark its 90th anniversary, the festival was revived in 2015 after a long break and has continued its success story ever since.
It's the perfect liaison: one of Saxony's most beautiful and historic locations will be the setting for a cultural highlight with supra-regional appeal in summer 2025.
From 14 to 22 June 2025, the Meissen Castle Festival will take place on the cathedral square.
Over nine days, the audience will experience a programme that will move light-footedly between
ambition and lively entertainment, tradition and modernity. One hundred years after
its premiere in 1925, the Burgfestspiele 2025 will be daring and surprisingly
unconventional. In addition to celebrated audience favourites, some well-known
artists will be taking to the festival stage for the first time.
For the first time, the city of Meissen itself will be organising the castle festival.
Pure culture against a unique backdrop - in the castle courtyard and the Great Court Room of Albrechtsburg Castle Meissen and Meissen Cathedral.
